About Us

Hi, I’m Mhairi, welcome to Stag & Bear. We are based on the outskirts of Edinburgh and currently run our business from our family home.

Stag & Bear was set up whilst I was on maternity leave with my second son, as a way to try and improve my work / life balance. I have always had a passion for jewellery, and started creating my own pieces while I was a student many years ago. It has taken me some time to take the plunge and set up my own jewellery company, but I am happy to finally be in this position and share my passion with you.

This is very much a family business. Although Stag and Bear is my creation, in the background my husband is my sounding board and is there helping with enquiries and delivering your orders too. My sister and mum both get involved when they can, helping with ideas, deliveries, marketing and packaging orders. There are also two very special helpers, my sons. Although they may be young, my eldest helped to choose our brand colours and loves taking photos of our products. The ’Bear’ part of our company name was also inspired by my boys. Our eldest used to refer to me as ‘mummy bear’ and when his brother came along he was known as ‘baby bear’, so as you can see every aspect of this company is based around family. Stags are found around our home too, much loved by my husband and myself as they have such a strong connection to our Scottish heritage, places we’ve lived and yet seem quite mystical too.

Our pieces are minimalist, elegant, and timeless in the hope that you can wear your items over and over again for years to come. Perhaps you will choose a piece of jewellery for a special occasion in your life, such as a wedding or milestone birthday. I love to think that the jewellery you choose for such occasions will become important pieces of your collection and you will forever remember those special moments when you look at your jewellery. I love how objects can hold special memories as, for me, jewellery has always been a way to relive landmark occasions and a great conversation starter.
